No overt nucleosome eviction at deprotected telomeres.
Dysfunctional telomeres elicit the canonical DNA damage response, which includes the activation of the ATM or ATR kinase signaling pathways and end processing by nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) or homologous recombination (HR). The cellular response to DNA double-strand breaks has been proposed to involve chromatin remodeling and nucleosome eviction, but whether dysfunctional telomeres undergo...
متن کاملLong Time No See: Overt Semantics for Machine Translation
In this paper, we show how a computational semantic approach is best fitted to address the translation of highly isolating languages. We use Chinese as an example and present the overall process of translation from Chinese to English, within the framework of Knowledge-Based Machine Translation (KBMT), using an overt semantics while de-emphasizing syntax. We focus here on two particular tasks: W...
متن کاملWhen the Body Says No: Understanding The Stress-Disease Connection
itations encountered in gene therapy, such as low gene expression, difficulties in producing adequate vector amounts, immune responses caused by non-specific transduction, and non-specific gene integration could be overcome by improving vector targeting. The bulk of the book (Parts 1 and 2) is dedicated to articles about transductional targeting strategies, meaning ways to design or manipulate ...
متن کاملService Speciic Connection Oriented Protocol (sscop) with No Credit Limitation
An error correction procedure is currently being deened by ITU-T under the name of \Service Speciic Connection Oriented Protocol". It is to be used in the B-ISDN in conjunction with AAL5 in order to provide an error-free data link layer. We study the performances of the procedure in terms of end-to-end delay. An analytical model is presented, which allows to address various traac engineering as...
متن کاملRevisiting the connection between the no-show paradox and monotonicity
We investigate the relation between monotonicity and the no-show paradox in voting rules. Although the literature has established their logical independence, we show, by presenting logical dependency results, that the two conditions are closer than a general logical independency result would suggest. Our analysis is made both under variable and fixed-size electorates.
